The Kid's Faire

Last weekend we went to the Kid's Faire at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. We mainly went there to see Barney and Dora the Explorer for Jaela. We thought Jake might've been too old to see characters but he was really into it! Whew!
Jake took pictures with Clifford the big red dog and the Geico guy LOL!
There was sooooo many things to do at the faire! Most of them FREE!!!
We were waiting for Dora to come...but the Barney show was about to start so we headed to see him.
Waiting for Barney..it was a HOT day!
She's getting excited!!!
BARNEY!!!
She was so excited! Sang along to EVERY song!!! ok maybe except one song...only because she didn't know it! Even Jake sang along!
We missed Dora...She came out when Barney was on and left when the show ended. Jaela was devastated when she saw her going bye-bye on a golf cart!
Food was great!
We snacked on some nachos with chili, FUNNEL CAKE..my fav! and garlic fries!!!

Then we went home and got some JAMBA and boy was that refreshing! =) I'm glad we went to this faire, it was our first time. I would never have known about it if my hubby's cousin never sent me an email! Thanks Ate Kay!

Trying something new...

I've been baking sugar cookies for as long as I can remember...but I have never tried decorating it with royal icing and "flooding" it.
I have always just baked them and ate it right away! hehe!
I how the letter "j" came out. I'm practicing for Jaela's 2nd birthday. I'm attempting to make ALL the baked goods myself for her dessert table.

I'm not a frosting/icing person so personally I'd rather eat this plain! This was so messy for us...next time we'll just try fondant
But Jake and Jaela ♥ed it. Jake loves to help, I can't wait until Jaela is old enough and she can be a part of our baking addiction! LOL!

Random...

I miss the days Jake would be home...He used to help me take care of his little sister while I make cake pops. Jaela likes to be next to me in the kitchen and she keeps trying to grab the sprinkles or she'll try to climb a chair to "steal" a cake pop! hehe! This is Jake and Jaela dancing...too cute!
.
Now that Jake is in school, she gets to watch ALL her shows without her big brother changing the channel on her! As you can see..she LOVES Barney and Dora!
yep...this is Jaela trying to steal a cake pop..hehe
everytime a take a photo of the cake pop for my blog...she wants a picture too...OF COURSE! hehe!
she's so silly
yes...thats a cake pop on her hand (butterfly pop)

Nap time

I ♥ it when my kids nap TOGETHER!!! I don't get this often! Usually they take separate naps or sometime Jake doesn't nap at all!

When they nap together, somehow they sleep LONGER! yes! LOL!
On that note...I get to catch up on my Sweet Bite orders, design custom tags, emails, and bloggin!
I wish I had more of this!!! =)

Jake goes to Kindergarden!

Oh how time flies! Last week, it was my son's FIRST day of Kindergarden! I didn't know what to expect! I wasn't sure if he'd look for me or start crying...turns out I'M the one teary eyed!!!

He's been waiting to go to school! I didn't enroll him in Pre-School because I thought he didn't need to. He's pretty smart for his age and he gets along with anyone and everyone! So I was nervous to leave him!
Jacob's teacher: Ms Musselman
He was looking at me and his daddy like what are you guys still doing here?!? I took a couple more shots...Looked at him...I wasn't ready to say bye (even if it was only for a few hours! hehe) Even Hubby couldn't take any steps back to leave. If Jaela wasn't with us, we'd probably would have stayed thru the whole class! Finally...after 30 mins of school starting...we waved bye to Jake...it felt like that moment was in SLOW MOTION!!!
When we picked him up, he was so EXCITED to go back to school the next day! Lets see how long that lasts! hehe! My baby boy is all grown up...now, one down and one more to go! LOL!

Mini Ice Cream Cupcakes!!

Those of you that know me, you know I love to bake and try new things.
See the cupcake inside? The top is just regular frosting!
See how mini it is!?! The cone on the left is standard size.

Wanna make your own =)

How to make your own cupcake cones:
♥ Mix your favorite cake/cupcake batter
♥ pour into cones, fill only until the cone changes its "shape"
♥ Bake at 350
♥ I did mines for about 10-15 mins since its mini. Or edges get golden brown
♥ Let cool

To make the soft serve frosting look:
♥ Use any can of frosting of your choice
♥ Nip a corner in bottom of ziplock bag or pastry bag
♥ Put frosting in bag and add swirl to cone

TA-DA and you are done!

Tip 1: be careful of handling cones when moving to oven and out of oven. They tend to fall. I held mines up with foil.
Tip 2: Do NOT over fill! The cupcake will rise after baking
